Dickey Days Ahead

I don’t do well living out of a suitcase. I have moments when I become exasperated when I can’t find what I’m looking for in the jumble of my bag. I know it’s in there somewhere….It would be easy to blame the dog, but he’s really not interested in my hairbrush.


I’ve learned to laugh at myself. My “homeless” situation is temporary, and my transitory lifestyle will be brief and very comfortable.


We left Nova Scotia and have been back in Toronto for over a week. It’s been a busy time; the days have felt as cluttered as my carry-on.


Soon we’ll be heading to our cottage on Dickey Lake. It’s my happy place. I end up wearing bathing suits during the day, and the same five pieces of clothing all summer. I need sunscreen, but no make-up.


It’s simple living. Swimming keeps my hair constantly wet; no hairbrush required.
