My husband and I had a date night on the weekend. Somewhere after the first of our beverages, we got talking about my blog.
I told him when people ask me what my blog is about, I explain its intent is to highlight the importance of perspective. I didn’t want it to be all about MS or ostomies, but short posts about everyday life.
My husband, looking like a little boy, earnestly admitted that he opened each of my posts hopeful that he would be mentioned. I choked back my cocktail as I tried to contain my giggles. It was no use; within moments we were both in fits of laughter.
I never imagined his disappointment each week. I assumed he would want to be left out of my public posts, not occupy a starring role. Silly me, presuming my perspective was his too.
After I pulled myself together, I smiled, looked him in the eye, raised my glass to his and warned, “be careful what you wish for….”
